La Serre-Che Luc Alphand’ bike race is open to everyone. It will take place on Sunday 11 July 2010 in Serre Chevalier, in France’s Hautes-Alpes department.

To ensure the smooth running of the race, several sections of road will be closed to cars. These include the starting stage through Briançon, the sections that cross Les Vigneaux and l’Argentière, the descents from Champcella, the Izoard pass. French police officers in collaboration with ASPTT race organisers will be on hand to
ensure that the cyclists can compete in complete safety along virtually the entire length of the routes chosen for this the eleventh race in the event’s history.
This race is sponsored by Luc Alphand and organized by the ASPTT Briançon / Serre Chevalier with 300 volunteers.
In 2006, the famous magazine Cyclosport made a survey to know the favourite races. 3 races had a lot of votes : l’Ardéchoise, stage of the Tour de France and…. the Serre Che Luc Alphand.
A « human size » race titled the magazine which underlined « the friendly atmosphere» of the event…

A route : 183 km - Elevation gain/drop 3500m (St Chaffrey townhall, Briançon, Montgenèvre pass, Cesana, Oulx, Bardonecchia, Echelle pass, Val des Prés, Briançon, Prelles, Les Traverses des Vigneaux, l’Argentière, La Roche de Rame, Montdauphin Gare, Guillestre, Guil crag, Arvieux, Izoard pass, Cervières, Briançon, Parc du Colombier in Chantemerle).

B Route : 102 km - Elevation gain/drop 1800 m de dénivelé positif (St Chaffrey townhall, Briançon, Prelles, les Traverses des Vigneaux, l’Argentière, la Roche de Rame, Montdauphin Gare, Guillestre, Guil crag, Arvieux, Izoard pass, Cervières, Briançon, and arrival Parc du Colombier.

C Route : 89 km - Elevation gain/drop 1675 m (St Chaffrey townhall, Briançon,Montgenèvre pass, Claviere, Cesana Torinese, Oulx, Bardonecchia, Col de l’Echelle, Vallée de la Clarée, Briançon, and arrival Parc du Colombier.
