Neiges de Culture or “In the know in the snow” is an original concept combining the joys of skiing with the pleasures of culture. Whether you are on your own or with friends, come and discover fun and interesting runs. Learn about the history of the valley and mountain tales on the pistes for some culture on skis! With an original backdrop as the stage, these events sneak into the gondolas, climb on to the peaks and settle on the snowy slopes.
“In the Know In the Snow” is designed and produced by Isabelle de Beaufort, an expert in successful mazes and unexpected paths, and can be visited in Serre Chevalier from 10th December 2011 to 22nd April 2012. SCV is committed to an innovative approach and has given her carte blanche with this project.
> Get the brain working and puzzle out a quizz and quotations on the chairlifts with “Remontées Animées” or “Lively Lifts”.
> Go back in time when you are skiing down the slopes. Puzzles and interactive games mark out two historical adventures : Plot against Caesarand Vauban and the secret Manuscript
> Escape to the Nomad Village: exhibitions and stories take you on the trail of Kyrgyz, Nenets, Sami and Inuit people.
> Be curious! The “Tell me Why” Trail answers all your questions about nature .
> Contemplate great white panoramas from black rocks on “L’ivresse des sommets” (drunkenness of the summits).
> Enliven all your senses with other activities on offer : download the “Histoires en pente”, stories of the mountains, on to your MP3 player and slide to the sounds with Luc Alphand and Raymond Renaud; keep your ears open during the Jazz Altitude Festival and taste the White Menus cooked up by the chefs in the valley.
