Pedestrian & snow-shoeing
Why not try something new? Snow-shoeing is a great way of exploring the beautiful snow-covered landscapes of the resort.
Serre Chevalier has several routes starting in the valley as well as six circuits higher up the mountain (foot passenger lift pass required) created to enable you to explore the hidden Serre Chevalier, surrounded by stunning Alpine peaks. A real breath of fresh air!
You don’t need any special training – you just have to know how to walk! Several routes take you along the fringes or into the magnificent Ecrins National Park and there are also walks that guide you through the heart of the resort. Or better still, go for a walk in the company of a mountain guide or leader who will explain the landscape and environment of the mountains in winter:
The winter fauna (chamois, ibex, hares, foxes…), the larch forests, the high- altitude environment, and the different types of snow and its dangers (avalanches, slips, slides).
Or maybe you’re simply after long, peaceful walks through untracked snow, far from the crowds, savouring the silence of the mountains.
