Serre Chevalier Vallée Briançon is one of the whitewater spots in the Hautes-Alpes where you'll find free-flowing rivers with a high density of courses. These whitewater activities are open to all, and thanks to the professionals and their experience, you'll be able to enjoy them in total safety.

There are three rivers in the Briançonnais area where you can practice these activities:

  • The Durance ( Class.3)

It rises at 2,390m in the commune of Montgenèvre. The torrent then flows into the Clarée, crosses Briançon and is joined by the Guisane. It is France's 2nd longest tributary.

  • The Guisane

The Guisane is a tributary of the Durance, with which it flows immediately downstream of Briançon. It rises at the Col du Lautaret, on the northern slopes of the Combeynot massif. It gives its name to the Guisane valley. Its course is 27.7km long

  • Clarée

This torrent rises on the slopes of Mont Thabor at an altitude of 3,178m. It flows through the Névache valley and, after a 28km journey, joins the Durance at La Vachette, in the commune of Val-des-Prés.
