A bit of history: what is rafting

Rafting originated on the Colorado River in the USA in the 1950s. It was imported into France in the 1980s.
From the English word to raft: to cross down (a river) in a raft.
Rafting is a leisure activity that involves descending rivers in an inflatable boat (raft). The boat is either paddled by several crew members or rowed by a single person.
Rafting is considered a white-water sport that appeals to thrill-seekers and nature-lovers alike.
