Come and let the gunpowder do the talking at the Fort des Têtes in an unusual visit! On this tour of the Trois Têtes fort, a giant 21-hectare fort and a veritable military "city" commanding the fortified system of Briançon, watch a demonstration of black powder firing used in the 18th century.

2 ways of getting to the fort's firing range:

By car: From the Heritage Department, Cité Vauban, take avenue Baldenberger, then left to join avenue de la Libération then avenue de la République. At the bottom of the hill, at the first roundabout, go straight ahead and at the next roundabout, turn left into avenue du Général de Gaulle. At the next roundabout, turn left and left again at the end of the road, then immediately right at the roundabout towards the Col d'Izoard. Drive through the hamlet of Fontchristiane. A few hundred metres after the exit sign for the hamlet, take the road on the left, in the bend just before the waste centre.
Caution: reduced visibility, dangerous crossing. Continue on the road that climbs up through the fortifications. Reach the firing range on a platform used as a parking area, where there is a long concrete and wooden barrack.

On foot from the upper town, along the path leading from the Asfeld bridge, 45 minutes uphill.
