The start was announced at 12.55 p.m. at Chantemerle - Place du Téléphérique.

Spaniard Carlos Verona won the stage in Vaujany.

The history of Critérium

The Critérium du Dauphiné is a cycling competition with stages. Created in 1947 by Georges Cazeneuve, it has been organized by the Dauphiné Libéré newspaper since 2010 via the Amaury Sport organization.

It takes place mainly in the Alps and around the Dauphiné.

The race generally takes place in June, a week before the start of the Tour de France, and is renowned for its challenging mountain courses and high passes.

In fact, it's said to be the preparatory race for the Tour de France! Nothing less! :)
