I'm naked in winter,
who am I?
I am a mountain dweller, a member of the Pinaceae family, often accompanied by Scots Pine, who am I?
I'm .....?
The larch
Unlike all my coniferous cousins, I lose my needles in winter. They turn from gold to red before turning brown, which is when the larch flames.
The delicate, soft needles then fall off, creating a carpet of humus that is ideal for the seeds of all my local friends.

Lakes in autumn
Tour the high altitude lakes in autumn. But be warned, you may not be ready to see what's in store! This extraordinary spectacle is likely to fracture your retina, so beware!
Take a stroll through the Serre Chevalier valley, discover the Lac de la douche, or stop off at the lake on your way to Granon.
