Open air visit in the eyes of Claire
I decided to take advantage of the quietness of the evening, with my small sweater on the shoulders, the path largely lit by the almost full moon (I was at the level of the hamlet of Casset, on the commune of Monêtier-les-bains). When, a particular light caught my attention. It was not that of the moon, but that of the mysterious projection of an unknown face. A face in Giant (Green) mode that seems to lean over me and smile?
In fact, Le Casset is part of a project highlighting the high mountains and mountaineering, among other things to open it to new audiences. A series of fifteen installations weave a path spread over seven villages*, all of which share the culture of mountaineering, the imagination and the attraction of the peaks.
The hamlet of Casset, commune of Monêtier les Bains, member of the Club des villages d'Alpinisme.
These are the mountaineering villages of the Ecrins National Park, chosen for their representativeness of the mountain spirit that blows in these high valleys.
The exhibition in Casset proposes the projection of faces of inhabitants, as you walk around. Thus, the emotion differs for everyone: being surprised by a face, by the unexpected discovery of works at various points of the village. A high mountain guide, a refuge keeper's daughter, a former National Park guard, so many faces to discover and rediscover, as the leaves move and the wind rustles softly at night.
To know more
From June 2 to September 30, you will have more than one hundred and twenty summer evenings to take a bold new look at the mountain villages and the work of Philippe Echaroux.
It was through his sports photography that the portraitist defined himself as a lover of the region. However, it is by widening the field of possibilities, by crossing mountains and oceans, from glaciers to the Amazon, that the artist has illustrated himself in 'street art' installations that are unique. Soft by its method, the projection of image, but also by its impact, weakly luminous, its art wants to be ecological and respectful of the inhabitants and... of the nocturnal animals. Like the freedom that the mountain embodies for the artist, the exhibition is free access. Thus, this project aims to renew the modes of access to culture and art.
Tomorrow, when the moon will be even fuller, I will go and see another work in the open air....
I invite you to join me there to share the love of the high mountains and the magic of the works of the Villages of Alpinism.
Within the framework of the European program "Villages d'Alpinisme des Ecrins", the ADDET, carrier of the project, worked with the artist and photographer Philippe Echaroux for the realization of artistic installations in the 7 villages: La Grave, Villar d'Arène, Le Monêtier les Bains, Vallouise Pelvoux, La Chapelle en Valgaudemar, Valjouffrey, Saint Christophe en Oisans.

To enjoy this typical mountain aperitif, you will have to mix cooperation, reflection and manipulation in order to decipher the riddles and open the icebox!
Let's go! Mount your electric bike and pedal slowly towards the twilight. In a few minutes, a calm and wild place is offered to us. Just in time to enjoy the last light of the day. We put down the bikes and we take out the aperitif. Open your eyes wide to enjoy the sunset and let yourself be told a beautiful story or local legend. That's it, you are disconnected from reality.
Or almost! It is already time to leave? Let's stay a little longer...

The idea of combining hiking and bivouac, offering a complete break from the daily routine and a total immersion in the wilderness.
Different themes can be tackled (natural environment, survivalism, Bushcraft*, orienteering,...).
A strong point will be put forward such as the bivouac and the local cooking with embers. We have a brazier for the fire, a Finnish teepee for protection, tents, mattresses, chairs, comforter,...
*Bushcraft: a leisure activity that consists of putting into practice skills and knowledge that allow one to live in a pleasant way in nature, with minimal disturbance and in the most autonomous way possible.
