Les concerts du piano-bar
This time, let's switch continents and head for Africa for a musical journey between memory and modernity.
- Sahra Halgan
An iconic artist from Somaliland, Sahra earned the nickname "Halgan" ("the fighter") in the 1980s when she joined the war against the dictatorship. Improvising as a nurse on the frontline, she sang to heal the wounded and encourage the fighters. After moving to France, she formed her own group in Lyon with Aymeric Krol, Maël Salètes and Régis Monte. Her third album, "Hiddo Dhawr" (Preserve the culture), is the fruit of a quest for authenticity and innovation, an unprecedented alliance between Somali song and rock.
