Exhibition "By the Water's Edge"
A painter originally from Briançon, Estelle Grisot has been teaching visual arts and watercolour for over twenty years, both at the Atelier des Beaux-arts and in her "Aquarelle" studio.
To celebrate the beauty of the countryside and the magic of autumn colours, she has selected a series of paintings inspired by sumi-e from among her works.
This demanding technique, which originated in Asia, combines precision and spontaneity of gesture to guide the eye towards the "spirit of things" and invite contemplation.
Between East and West, tradition and modernity, colour and black and white, Estelle Grisot invites us to inhabit the world in a sensitive way, with a fresh eye that is attentive to what is revealed in silence.
Watercolour workshop: Wednesday 15 October, 2pm to 4.30pm: free, registration required, aged 8 and up.
