The media centre and Claire Zynga, a trainer for people experiencing literacy difficulties, invite you to a film screening and discussion of the film *Champion*, directed by Mona Achache (2022).
Film synopsis: Zack, played by Kendji Girac, is a 24-year-old carpenter. He helps his father run the family business. When his father has a fall and slips into a coma, Zack has to take over the business. But he has a secret: he cannot read or write.
(running time: 1h 30m)
Coping with life’s challenges without being able to read or write requires a great deal of courage and determination, as well as the development of workarounds. This is the central theme of the film, which explores this issue in the workplace.
The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Claire Zynga, a trainer for people who, despite having attended school, still struggle greatly with reading or writing.
