Mathieu Maynadier - An emblematic figure in French mountaineering, the man nicknamed "Mémé" has many summits and routes to his name. After scouring the globe in search of new adventures and uncharted routes, the French mountaineer has opened himself up to other opportunities, such as becoming the coach of the men's national mountaineering team for the 2019/2020 season.
Last May, the mountaineer from Briançon set off on another expedition, accompanied by Tyrolean Simon Gietl and Swiss Roger Schaëli. It was in India that he rediscovered the pleasure of climbing major ascents, as he had done on more than one occasion in the past. From 11 to 13 May 2023, it was in good company that Mathieu opened the Goldfish route (800m, M6+, A1) in alpine style, on the east-south-east slope of the southern summit of Meru (6,570m, Garhwal).
Ivica Kostelić, born on 23 November 1979 in Zagreb, is a former Croatian alpine skier turned skipper. World slalom champion in 2003 and overall World Cup winner in 2011, he is the only Croatian skier to have won one of these two competitions.
