Both patient craftsmen, the choreographer-dancer Christian Ubl and the gardener-writer Gilles Clément know how to observe the transformation of a seed into a living creation. Each likes to explore his own playground: the stage for one, the garden for the other.

In Vagabondages & Conversations, their paths come together to evoke the living. Two forms of writing, two practices and two identities seek a new, hybrid elsewhere. With humour and delicacy, they speak to us of transformation, adaptation and migration via the "planetary stirring" so dear to Gilles Clément. This "ceaseless agitation" of flows around the planet - winds, sea currents, animal and human transhumance - through which species are constantly mixed and redistributed. On stage, a scenic gardening where the voice and the body are brought into friction to create poetry. A sensitive and powerful story, linked by dance, between two men of different generations who wish to work in the present.
