This is the second time that this international sporting event has come to Briançon, in the form of the Vauban Mountain Trail and the Kilomètre Vertical.
These stages combine mountain trails with cultural heritage, taking participants through the forts of Briançon, which are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They are open to everyone, whether registered or unregistered.
Since last summer, the French national mountain running and trail running teams have made Briançon their base camp and, in particular, came to train there in spring 2026 to prepare for the European Championships.
