Descriptif détaillé

Claire Gatineau and Julien Benard invite you to relive the atmosphere of the evenings of yesteryear by listening together to a fictional sound documentary
For one spring, Claire Gatineau settles down to write in the village where her grandparents lived. Over the last 50 years, the temperature in this region has risen twice as much as the global average, and the forecasts are not very encouraging. She met the villagers, who talked about their perceptions of these changes. She also asked them to imagine a story with her: "What if... one day... in 10 or 20 years' time, a group from outside the village came to settle at 2000 metres on land where we can now live all year round...".

How the evening unfolds
- Guided tour of the "Reminiscences" exhibition by Julien Benard (30 mins)

- Group listening to the docu-drama (52 mins) followed by a discussion with Claire Gatineau
- Shared bag lunch: bring a sweet or savoury dish, drinks are on us!
Julien Benard and Claire Gatineau have been travelling together artistically for several years, each exploring the same Haute-Alpes region in their own way. Today, they are offering an original encounter between their respective worlds: on the one hand, images of an unchanging, reassuring past photographed in a rural interior, and on the other, the recorded words of the inhabitants of a village where the sharing of land, climate change and the use of imagination to invent an uncertain future are discussed.

- Photographer and author Julien Benard combines artistic, documentary and journalistic projects. His approach is instinctive, with a predilection for portraits, nature and imaginary stories. At times dreamlike, poetic or intimate; at other times geometric, choreographic or even playful, it is nourished by contemplation and observations gathered by chance. A fan of creative encounters, he regularly collaborates with other artists.

- Claire Gatineau works in several artistic fields: writing, drawing, as well as sound and radio production. She regularly combines these different disciplines with a keen interest in storytelling. She is co-creator of the sound magazine Le grain des choses and the production company Farrago production.

This collaborative artistic project builds on the existing dynamic between the libraries in the Briançonnais area to offer an artistic journey that combines visual art and sound creation.
