Descriptif détaillé

This 4th edition of the festival will offer audiences concerts with eclectic aesthetics, closely connected to contemporary French musical creation.

Part 1:
Pierre de Bethmann, jazz pianist, composer and arranger, was born in Paris in 1965.
A graduate of ESCP Business School, he began jazz as a self-taught musician.
At the age of 24, he decided to study in the United States at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Shortly after returning to France, he chose to devote himself entirely to music, encouraged by Laurent Cugny, then Director of the Orchestre National de Jazz.
During a masterclass with Herbie Hancock, he particularly impressed the famous American pianist. He then began a career that would lead him to perform with the finest French jazz musicians.
In 2013, alongside Didier Lockwood and Lionel Belmondo, he took part in the “French Jazz Week” at the famous Jazzhus Montmartre club in Copenhagen.
He has recorded several albums for the Blue Note label, notably with his PRYSM Trio, with which he has toured extensively in the United States.
Renowned as an outstanding composer and arranger writing for various ensembles, including up to 12 solo musicians, Pierre de Bethmann has received numerous awards:

La Défense National Jazz Competition Prize (1994)
Django d’Or (1998)
Django Reinhardt Prize of the Académie du Jazz (2004)
Victoire du Jazz (2008) – Album of the Year
Grand Prix Jazz of the Académie Charles Cros (2016)
Victoires du Jazz 2024 – Instrumental Artist of the Year
Victoires du Jazz 2025 – Album and Concert of the Year
Since 2008, he has been teaching at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, Jazz and Improvised Music Department.

Part 2:
“Lady Violet” Trio – Vincent Lê Quang (saxophone), Marc Ducret (guitar), Bruno Ruder (piano)
“Lady Violet” is the name of an exceptional trio, formed by three major figures of the French and international jazz scene: Vincent Lê Quang, Bruno Ruder and Marc Ducret.

Vincent Lê Quang is a saxophonist whose insatiable curiosity leads him from jazz to contemporary music, via classical music. A specialist of soprano and tenor saxophones, he has developed a distinctive and recognisable sound. He has performed alongside Daniel Humair, Jean-Paul Céléa, Jeanne Added, Aldo Romano, Henri Texier, Bruno Ruder, László Fassang, in prestigious venues in Washington, Moscow, Budapest and Paris.
Since 2007, he has been a professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (CNSM) in Paris.
Bruno Ruder, an eclectic pianist, is equally at ease in avant-garde contexts and in the great jazz tradition. He is both a sought-after sideman and a leader of his own projects. A graduate of the CNSM in Paris in 2003, he began his career with Riccardo Del Fra, who introduced him to top-level musicians. He later became the pianist of Magma from 2008, and of the Orchestre National de Jazz from 2019 to 2024. A regular collaborator of singer Jeanne Added, he is also a long-time musical partner of Vincent Lê Quang. In 2022 and 2024, he was ranked among the top three French pianists according to Jazz Magazine.
A self-taught guitarist, Marc Ducret was quickly drawn to a wide range of forms of expression, both in his playing and his compositional work. He was soon recognised by major jazz figures and performed alongside Daniel Humair, Michel Portal, Joachim Kühn, Henri Texier, Don Friedman, Larry Schneider, Andy Emler and Didier Lockwood.
In 1986, he was invited by François Jeanneau to join the first Orchestre National de Jazz. Today, he is considered one of the key figures of the French jazz scene.
