Why and how was black powder used? How was equipment transported? Was this fort used during the Second World War?
Armed with a map and accompanied by a guide, set off in search of clues from the past that will help you answer all these questions.

This tour/game is aimed at families with small or large children, so make sure you wear something comfortable to take part.
Children remain the responsibility of their parents.

Duration: 2h30

RDV: car park of the firing range, Briançon
To ensure that your visit starts on time, please plan your journey and parking times in advance

2 ways of getting to the fort's firing range:

By car: From the Heritage Department, Cité Vauban, take avenue Baldenberger, then left to join avenue de la Libération then avenue de la République. At the bottom of the hill, at the first roundabout, go straight ahead and at the next roundabout, turn left into avenue du Général de Gaulle. At the next roundabout, turn left and left again at the end of the road, then immediately right at the roundabout towards the Col d'Izoard. Drive through the hamlet of Fontchristiane. A few hundred metres after the exit sign for the hamlet, take the road on the left, in the bend just before the waste centre.
Caution: reduced visibility, dangerous crossing. Continue on the road that climbs up through the fortifications. Reach the firing range on a platform used as a parking area, where there is a long concrete and wooden barrack.

On foot from the upper town, along the path leading from the Asfeld bridge, 45 minutes uphill.

The guide reserves the right to cancel or interrupt any tour if necessary for the safety of visitors.

Tours are available for groups of 2 or more.
