Letting go
figuratively speaking
Climbing to gain another point of view. Climb to become one with nature.
A valley
that climbs
Between the high mountains of the Ecrins National Park and the Guisane valley, climbers find ideal sites for rock climbing: all types of rock and equipped sites, major routes, couennes or boulders, varied exposures and altitudes, the training possibilities here are exceptional all year round.
Among the valley's most popular sites, Rocher du Bez and Pantalon are ideal for beginners, while Rocher Maubert and Massif des Cerces are ideal for advanced climbers.
For novices, the various Via Ferrata sites - an itinerary built́ into a rock face equipped with cables and ladders to facilitate progress in complete safetý - enable the discipline to be tamed from the age of 6.
What is a via ferrata?
Via ferrata is a sport that combines hiking and climbing, and is most often practised in mid-range mountains.
Malo discovers climbing
At 4 years old, Malo is a real little Zebulon. He jumps, climbs everywhere, sometimes falls (his knees bear witness to this), but when he's at the end of a rope, he's at peace. Is it being at one with nature that channels his energy?
Once the harness is on, it's as if Malo is donning his superhero costume. With the rope attached, he begins his ascent. With no fear of heights or apprehension, Malo makes rapid progress on the small boulders in front of him. He links holds and laughs heartily.
Okay Malo, you can come down now, sit in your harness! Alice our guide assures Malo.
"Wahouuuu, Mom can we start again tomorrow Steplait Steplait?"
