Zoom in on the breakdown of events 👀 🤩
🎿 Mogul skiing A rhythmic descent down a mogul-strewn couloir, punctuated by two acrobatic jumps. A discipline that demands power, technique and creativity. Serre Chevalier, with its ideal slopes and natural snow cover, offers the perfect playground for this event.
🎿 Acrobatic jumping Athletes take off from a springboard and perform spectacular aerial tricks - twists, saltos, rotations - before landing on a steep slope. A guaranteed visual spectacle for spectators.
🎿 The big air A unique, long and technical jump, performed from an imposing springboard. Judges evaluate the height, difficulty and creativity of the tricks. One of the most popular disciplines with the younger generation.
Serre Chevalier and Montgenèvre: the Briançonnais at the summit
The Briançonnais area is one of the 4 geographic hubs of the 2030 Olympic Games, alongside Haute-Savoie, Savoie and Nice.
Montgenèvre will also host several complementary events: slopestyle, parallel giant slalom, ski-cross and snowboard halfpipe, as well as Paralympic events (snowboard cross and banked slalom).
In all, one third of the medals at the Games will be awarded in the Hautes-Alpes - a source of pride for the entire valley!
Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur: field hockey and para-hockey, figure skating, short-track, curling and wheelchair curling.
The French Alps will host the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games!
A sober, sustainable event that will leave a lasting imprint on our region and for generations to come. A historic event that brings us together and thrills us.
The Olympic village in Briançon
Athletes taking part in events in the Briançon area will be accommodated in the Olympic Village in Briançon, France's highest town and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
All athletes will be accommodated within 30 minutes of their competition venue, in keeping with the Games' commitment to sobriety.
A historic and responsible Olympic Games
The Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games return to France for the 4th time in history, after Chamonix 1924, Grenoble 1968 and Albertville 1992. It is also the first time that two major regions - Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur - have come together for a joint project of this scale.
The Games have been designed according to a new model: 93% of the venues are already existing, thus avoiding unnecessary construction. Three sites from the Albertville 1992 Olympics are being reused (La Plagne, Courchevel, Méribel). The COJOP, chaired by Edgar Grospiron - Albertville's Olympic mogul skiing champion - is overseeing the organization in a sober and environmentally-friendly manner.
The Games are coming to our mountains - and you can be part of it!
