The Serre Chevalier Vallée Briançon ski season runs from December to April. To avoid the crowds, it's best to leave outside the school vacation periods. January and March are generally quieter, and snow conditions are excellent.

4. Prepare your equipment

Before you leave, make sure you have all the equipment you need: skis, boots, helmet, etc. If you don't have your own equipment, you can rent it on site. Don't forget to bring warm, waterproof clothing to face the cold and snow.

And also the things we tend to forget: chapstick, a backpack, your kids...! :)

Ps: Since November 1, 2022, snow chains, winter tires and socks have been mandatory in mountainous areas, so don't wait until you're stuck on the road.

10 . Coming to Serre Chevalier with peace of mind

There are a number of options for getting to your favorite resort, so it's important to plan your itinerary well in advance and equip yourself with the tools/apps that will make the task easier.

It can be reached :

  • by car (special equipment required) ;
  • by bus from Grenoble, Paris, Marseille airport and Aix-en-Provence TGV station;
  • by plane from Turin, Milan, Lyon and Marseille airports;
  • by train: regional trains from Valence and TGV from Grenoble and Oulx. More original is the recently renovated night train from Paris: an excellent way to travel while sleeping!

With your guest card from your accommodation provider, you can use the Briançon urban network free of charge.
