Serre Chevalier Vallée Briançon...In the heart of an exceptional Nordic area. The Hautes Alpes department boasts 1,000 kilometers of marked trails spread over 22 Nordic sites.
From Chantemerle to the hamlet of Le Casset, the Nordic site offers a wide range of activities in an exceptional setting: beginners on the green trail (easy access), athletes (wide skating and alternative trails), families (nature trails, picnic area, activities, snowshoeing), Nordic walking, biathlon stadium with beginners' course.
The first time... Alternative or skating?
Both cross-country skiing techniques require a minimum of endurance, and skating is more athletic. Reciprocating skiing is an older technique in which the cross-country skier runs on rails with flake or wax skis. Dating back to the 80s, skating is similar to skating and is practiced on smooth, groomed runs.
