Over the years, the Monêtier-les-Bains Livestock Fair has become the largest in the department, with up to 350 head of cattle at previous editions.
This rural and agricultural event aims to promote and support the livestock market.
Refreshments provided by the Serre Chevalier Fire Brigade Friends’ Association and the Hautes Vallées Young Farmers’ Association.
From 8.00 am:
• Cattle and sheep market, veterinary checks
• Breed competition for animals descending from the mountain pastures
• Local producers’ market
• Meeting with pastoral mediators
• Car boot sale organised by the Aiglons Multi-Sport and Cultural Association (set up from 7.00 am)
• ‘Loto Bouse’ from 10.30 am, organised by the Young Farmers’ Association of the Hautes Vallées
From 11.00 am:
• Procession with the Quadrille du Tabuc
• Fair prize-giving ceremony
• Catering by the Hautes-Vallées Young Farmers’ Association with a set menu for €18:
starter with salad + fresh goat’s cheese from GAEC La Ferme des Écrins – main course with crozets in a cheese sauce from GAEC du Petit Puy + bacon lardons + onions (cheese-free option available) – dessert with yoghurt from GAEC du Petit Puy
