Programme:
Friday 7 August:
• 6.00 pm: ‘Women at the Summit’ – women in mountaineering. This show explores the little-known history of women’s mountaineering, from the pioneers to today’s leading figures. Through storytelling and object theatre, it pays tribute to the women who dared to scale the peaks and examines their place in mountaineering. Salle du Dôme.
• 9.00 pm: screening of the film “Accrochées” by Marie Lachaud (in front of the church in the Village du Casset – in case of rain: Salle du Dôme Pré Chabert).
Sophie is a mountain hut warden, Laurette a circus artist and director, and Aurélia a mountain guide. This documentary follows their daily lives over the course of a summer in the Écrins massif: Sophie runs the Sélé mountain hut, Laurette juggles creating and performing, and Aurélia guides her clients to the summit. All three are making their mark as women in a world that remains largely male-dominated.
