A story set in the heart of the Ecrins massif, which explores science in the great outdoors and the connections it forges between living things. It is the story of a journalist, Jeanne, who is searching for meaning in both her work and her life. Her encounter with botanists opens up a new path for her. To name living things is, in itself, to resist their disappearance and to come to terms with that which is hostile to us. By discovering a new way of inhabiting the world, she will regain her confidence in the life that lies ahead.
