Hiking
A must in the mountains (and in any natural environment), hiking (more commonly known as walking, or hiking for short, or even rando for those who know it well) is a way of discovering the fauna and flora while enjoying the landscape.
It is a contemplative activity, without any artifice or accessory, during which the hiker can indulge in the simple pleasure of breathing the mountain air, listening to the whistle of a marmot playing or smelling the perfume of the carpets of silene acaule (a very pretty pink flower found in the Alps). Hiking, in Serre Chevalier or elsewhere, is an ode to the pleasure of the senses, all of them including taste, as you would be surprised to know all the little things you can nibble on in nature.
As you will have understood, hiking in the Briançon valley and us is a long love story!
All year round, daily.
