Badminton
Badminton is a very complete sport, whether the player is in an attacking or defending situation. Speed of execution, timing of shots, coordination of movements, power, agility and anticipation are all athletic qualities which, combined together, enable a player to raise his or her level of play.
Badminton improves coordination, flexibility and balance.
It works the gluteal muscles (acceleration), abdominal and back muscles (receiving and returning the shuttlecock), strengthens the joints. You can burn up to 500 calories per hour.
It develops spatial perception and visual acuity.
Practising badminton improves endurance, fights obesity, stress or anxiety.
By dint of practising, you develop balance, faculties of concentration and anticipation, skill and reactivity. Badminton also has positive effects on the mind and well-being. It fights stress and anxiety, as you unwind and release the tensions of the week.
